The benefits of these magnetic switches outweigh the physical contacts and even opto-based switches as they are impervious to dirt and dust. As there is no physical connection between the target and the switches, you can expect these drop contacts to last forever.
These boards come with diodes installed. They are supplied with the appropriate magnet and even some new interconnect wires.
